North Sea Midstream Partners and Kellas Midstream Announce Completion of Commissioning of the Lynx Line
North Sea Midstream Partners (“NSMP”) and Kellas Midstream (“Kellas”) are pleased to announce the successful construction and commissioning of the Lynx Line, a new gas condensate route linking the condensate export system of the CATS terminal to the Teesside Gas Processing Plant (“TGPP”), located on Teesside, England.
This joint project between NSMP and Kellas represents a significant milestone and secures a new long term export route for gas condensate from the CATS terminal.
Originated and funded by NSMP, the Lynx Line concept was initially proposed in November 2022 and the project was safely delivered on schedule and on budget within six months of a construction agreement being signed between the relevant parties.
The Lynx Line project would not have been possible without the collaboration and support NSMP received from Kellas, the Lynx Line anchor customers and project partners Camm-Pro, Wood and px Group. Together, the project has successfully delivered an important piece of infrastructure that will support the efficient transportation of gas condensate on Teesside and provide export optionality for market participants for many years to come.
Sayma Cox, Chief Executive Officer of North Sea Midstream Partners said:
"We are proud to have spearheaded the development of the Lynx Line. Kellas is a respected peer on Teesside; we have partnered on this project to generate a win-win for both companies, deliver optionality for North Sea producers and ensure security of operation of a major UK gas transmission system”
Alan Murray, Chief Operating Officer of Kellas Midstream said:
"Kellas is pleased to recognise the successful commissioning of the Lynx Line. Together with NSMP, the CATS terminal owners and our customers, we have demonstrated our collective expertise in safely delivering a fast-paced project. We look forward to continuing our collaboration to meet the evolving needs of our customers."
About the Lynx Line:
The Lynx Line is a condensate export route utilising new and existing pipework which links the condensate export system of the CATS terminal to the adjacent NSMP owned TGPP, where condensate fractionated at the CATS terminal is comingled with condensate fractionated at TGPP and transported to storage and offtake systems at Seal Sands, Teesside. First export to the Lynx Line was achieved on 8 March 2024.
